Pistachios are the Peanut of Aegina!

The first beach we went to was on the little island of Aegina. We rode a ferry to the island and it took about an hour from Athens. It was my first ever ferry ride :).

Pistachios were sold everywhere in Aegina! Roula (our tour guide) told us that pistachios are the peanut of Aegina. I think we all bought some.

From a distance coming into the port we were able to see the ruins of the Temple of Apollo. Actually all that is left of that temple is one standing column, but we saw it!

While in Aegina we went to the Sanctuary of Aphaia. This was a pretty well conserved temple from around 1300 BC. It had amazing views of the ocean and was really unique in the fact that it was a two story temple, indicated by the two different sizes of columns.

Just the Girls :)
Our first swim in the Mediterranian Sea was amazing!! The beach was kinda rocky in Aegina and hurt to walk on to first get in the water. But the water was really warm and clear. Unlike any beach I've ever been too.Thankfully none of us stepped on any sea urchins, although I heard some people came close.
